Le congrès annuel de la SFRP, célébrant ses 60 ans d’existence, s’est tenu du 17 au 19 juin 2025 à La Baule. Ce congrès a été l’occasion pour les membres de se retrouver et d’échanger sur de nombreux thèmes autour de la radioprotection. Parmi ces sujets, notons l’émergence du démélange spectral pour l’analyse par spectrométrie dans des applications spécifiques telles que les mesures aéroportées. C’est d’ailleurs l’auteur de l’une de ces communications, Charles-Philippe Mano (CEA), qui a remporté le prix des jeunes chercheurs et qui représentera la SFRP lors du concours jeunes chercheurs au prochain congrès de l’IRPA, à Liverpool en juin 2026. Ce congrès, c’est également 47 présentations orales, 9 présentations tutoriales permettant de faire le point sur un sujet spécifique, une quarantaine de posters dont trois récompensés : H. Jaegler sur l’optimisation du piégeage du carbone-14, C. Noyes à propos de la collection de minéraux du museum national d’histoire naturelle, et C. Mercat pour un serious game pour la sensibilisation à la radioprotection de l’environnement. Nous avons également reçu des invités prestigieux : Pierre-Marie Abadie (ASNR), Maxence Cordiez, Françoise Bezerra (CNES), Bernard Le Guen (IRPA), Hildegarde Vandenhove (AIEA), Géraldine Pina (ASNR) et Etienne Klein. Enfin, l’assemblée générale a permis d’acter le passage de relais à la présidence de la SFRP avec la nomination de Pierre-Yves Hemidy. Notons aussi les nombreuses animations, souvent ludiques, comme le concours « radioprotection pour un champion » brillamment remporté par un élève du master en radioprotection de Grenoble, les posters sur l’histoire des sections de la SFRP ou encore le détournement d’œuvres d’art célèbres pour une sensibilisation particulière à la radioprotection.

Et notre journal, me direz-vous ? Il fêtera ses soixante ans l’année prochaine. En attendant, notre dernier facteur d’impact pour l’année 2024 à 1,8 montre que notre journal continue à gagner en notoriété et se place maintenant en tête des journaux de radioprotection en se situant dans le second quartile des journaux scientifiques du domaine « Sciences et technologies du nucléaire » et dans le troisième quartile des domaines « Radiologie, médecine nucléaire et imagerie médicale » et « Santé publique, environnementale et du travail ». Ceci traduit bien l’évolution de la politique éditoriale davantage orientée vers le médical tout en conservant un œil attentif sur les expositions professionnelles (Almalki et al., 2025), les aspects sociétaux de la radioprotection (Ando et al., 2024) et l’évolution à venir de la doctrine de la radioprotection et des recommandations de la CIPR (Laurier et Schneider, 2024). Poursuivons maintenant ce travail en gardant entre autres pour objectif un référencement dans Pubmed, ce qui permettrait d’augmenter encore notre visibilité… et notre facteur d’impact ! Mais tout ceci n’existerait pas sans la qualité des contributions des auteurs que nous remercions à nouveau.

The annual congress of the SFRP, celebrating its 60^th anniversary, was held from 17 to 19 June 2025 in La Baule. The congress was an opportunity for members to meet up and discuss a wide range of topics relating to radiation protection in a renowned seaside resort. These included the emergence of spectral demixing for spectrometric analysis in specific applications such as airborne measurements. The author of one of these papers, Charles-Philippe Mano (CEA), won the young researchers’ prize and will represent SFRP in the young researchers’ competition at the next IRPA congress, in Liverpool in June 2026. The congress also included 47 oral presentations, 9 tutorial presentations on a specific subject, and around 40 posters, three of which were awarded prizes: H. Jaegler on the optimisation of carbon-14 trapping, C. Noyes on the mineral collection of the French National Museum of Natural History, and C. Mercat on a serious game to raise awareness of environmental radiation protection. We also welcomed some prestigious guests: Pierre-Marie Abadie (President of the ASNR), Maxence Cordiez, Françoise Bezerra (CNES), Bernard Le Guen (President of IRPA), Hildegarde Vandenhove (IAEA), Géraldine Pina (ASNR) and Etienne Klein. Finally, the General Meeting saw the handover of the SFRP presidency to Pierre-Yves Hemidy. There were also a number of events, many of them fun, such as the “radioprotection for a champion” competition, brilliantly won by a student from the Grenoble Masters in Radiation Protection, posters on the history of SFRP sections and the use of famous works of art to raise awareness of radiation protection.

And what about our journal? It will be celebrating its 60^th anniversary next year. In the meantime, our latest impact factor for 2024, at 1.8, shows that our journal is continuing to gain notoriety and is now at the top of the list of radiation protection journals, ranking in the second quartile of scientific journals in the “Nuclear science and technology” field and in the third quartile in the “Radiology, nuclear medicine and medical imaging” and “Public, environmental and occupational health” fields. This clearly reflects the evolution of the editorial policy towards a more medical focus, while maintaining a close eye on occupational exposure (Almalki et al., 2025), the societal aspects of radiation protection (Ando et al., 2024) and future developments in radiation protection doctrine and ICRP recommendations (Laurier and Schneider, 2024). We are now continuing this work with the aim, among other things, of being referenced in Pubmed, which would further increase our visibility... and our impact factor! But none of this would be possible without the quality of the contributions from the authors, whom we would like to thank once again.

So get cracking!
