In recent years, Radioprotection, the journal of the French Radiation Protection Society (SFRP) has evolved to an international peer-reviewed journal. This evolution, together with a recent change in the editorial board of the journal, stimulated a reflexion on the aims and topics of interest for the journal. The starting point of this reflexion is an analysis by the editorial board of the current issues in the various fields of radiation protection and the associated challenges in corresponding research areas such as epidemiology, fundamental radiation biology, biological and physical dosimetry, radiation toxicology, ecotoxicology and environmental radiation protection. This article presents the results of this think tank action and paves the way for an evolution of the aims and scope of the journal Radioprotection.
Key words: radioprotection / medical exposures / radon / radiobiology / radiosensitivity / radiosusceptibility / epidemiology / dosimetry
